With the aim of developing and enhancing logistics services, MTCIT launches the 3rd edition of the Logistics Best Practices Award

As part of its efforts to develop the logistics sector and strengthen its role as a key driver of economic growth and national income diversification, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), represented by the Oman Logistics Center, in cooperation with the Oman Logistics Association, has announced the launch of the third edition of the Logistics Best Practices Award for 2026. The award aims to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the logistics sector at both regional and international levels, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which aspires to position the Sultanate as a global logistics hub by developing infrastructure and adopting best modern practices in this vital field.

Promoting Competitiveness

The award seeks to recognize the best practices and innovative projects implemented across logistics activities during the past twelve months, fostering a spirit of positive competition and encouraging innovation and excellence in this key sector. It covers various logistics activities such as warehousing and storage, shipping lines and ship agents, air, maritime, and land transport, customs clearance, ports and free zones, ground handling, and freight forwarding.

Award Categories

The award includes five main categories:

1. Omanization Category – for the best policies and procedures in employing and developing Omani talents.

2. Health & Safety Category – for outstanding initiatives that have enhanced safety culture and reduced accidents and risks.

3. Net Zero Category – for projects contributing to the reduction of emissions, waste, and energy consumption.

4. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Category – for practices and technologies that improved operational efficiency and productivity.

5. Omani Products & Services Category – for companies that have supported local supply chains and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Transparent Evaluation

Applications will be evaluated by an independent judging panel comprising a group of specialists and experts from the logistics sector to ensure transparency and credibility in selecting the winners.
