n line with the strategic direction pursued by the Sultanate of Oman to strengthen the national economy, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has placed great emphasis on the sector of start-ups, small and medium enterprises, as well as the entrepreneurship ecosystem. His Majesty has repeatedly stressed in his royal speeches the importance of empowering this sector and providing the necessary support, particularly for projects based on innovation and advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence.

Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the development and growth of start-ups and small and medium enterprises has been highlighted as one of the key guiding principles that the Sultanate aims to promote, with the objective of achieving sustainable economic growth built on diversification and innovation. This direction seeks to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurship that contributes to positioning the Sultanate as a regional hub for technology and innovation.

Among the prominent digital economy programs supporting this vision is the Cybersecurity Industry Program, which focuses on developing and empowering start-ups and small and medium enterprises operating in the cybersecurity field. The National Cybersecurity Center at the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology is working on an initiative to support and promote national cybersecurity products and services. The first phase of this initiative aims to establish the “National Cybersecurity Products and Services Directory”, which will include start-ups and small and medium enterprises that provide products and services in the cybersecurity domain.

This directory represents an important opportunity for these companies to expand their operations both within and beyond the Sultanate, as it serves as a valuable reference for individuals, institutions, and investors seeking collaboration or contracting opportunities. It provides clear details about these companies, the nature of their services, and their contact information. The second phase of the initiative focuses on marketing and promoting these Omani services and products at the local, regional, and international levels, contributing to enhancing the activity of these companies and opening new prospects for their expansion and growth.
