This Royal Decree establishes the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology by merging the former Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Technology and Communications into a single entity, approves its new organizational structure, and transfers all employees, assets, allocations, rights, and obligations of both former ministries to the new one, while replacing their previous titles in relevant laws with the new ministry’s name. It also outlines broad responsibilities that include formulating and implementing policies for transport, communications, and digital transformation; developing national infrastructure and technology platforms; overseeing e-government projects; supporting innovation and advanced technologies; developing the postal and space sectors; enhancing international cooperation; and preparing relevant legislation and implementing international agreements related to the ministry’s fields of work.
