Over the past few years, the Sultanate of Oman has charted an ambitious course towards a knowledge-based economy and achieving digital society and e- governance through a national strategy, which includes all related aspects and components - from building human capacities, developing the required infrastructure, implementing the e-government approach to building trust and drafting the framework and legislation.

The government digital transformation program 2021-2025 in the Sultanate aims to build a sustainable knowledge society and raise the productivity and efficiency of the public sector by building national capacity,  enhancing infrastructure, developing IT industry and improving the quality of government services and its delivery modes in accordance with the standards and a time span, ensuring its full compatibility with the objectives of simplifying procedures of Services for citizens, the business sector and government institutions.
