Oman has a rich history of diplomatic and civilizational relations with many surrounding and distant countries. In commemoration of the ship "Sultana" as the first Arab ship to reach New York Harbor on April 30, 1840, and within the framework of the vital role of the transport and logistics sector in the Sultanate of Oman, which is growing at a rapid pace linked to the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and the strategic objectives of national programs and other economic, social, and environmental activities, the esteemed Council of Ministers has graciously approved the celebration of the Omani Day for the Logistics Sector on April 30 of each year.
Which aims to highlight the role of the transport and logistics sector and the efforts made within it, and to engage the transport system (by land, sea, and air) in an integrated manner thru various initiatives, enhancing the concept of transport in all its forms among different segments of society, and involving institutions, companies, and individuals in the transport and logistics system to raise awareness and understanding of other aspects of the sector.
