MTCIT Organises Specialised Training on Drone Accident Investigation

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Transport Safety Office, organised a specialised training programme on the investigation of incidents and accidents involving drones and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), in cooperation with ESBAAR. The programme forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen aviation safety frameworks and enhance the readiness of national professionals to respond to incidents associated with emerging aviation technologies.

The programme was organised in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s directives on conducting investigations into drone-related incidents and accidents, while keeping pace with rapid global developments in this field. It aims to support the implementation of international best practices and standards in accident investigation procedures and further enhance aviation safety levels.


The programme brought together specialists from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, alongside representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority. Participants explored a range of technical and regulatory topics related to unmanned aircraft systems, including operational frameworks, regulatory requirements governing drone operations, as well as investigation methodologies and procedures for handling incidents and accidents involving such aircraft.


Through such initiatives, the Transport Safety Office reaffirms its commitment to building national capabilities and developing specialised technical expertise, contributing to the enhancement of safety standards across the transport sector and supporting national efforts to adopt the latest international practices and technologies in the investigation of accidents and incidents.
