Google is implementing the project to cover the roads of the Sultanate of Oman within its Street View feature, with the support and supervision of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and in cooperation with the National Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information at the Ministry of Defence.

The project is being implemented in several phases. The first phase included the cities of Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah, in addition to main roads and some surrounding areas. The second phase focuses on expanding coverage to include additional areas in various governorates, from Musandam in the north to Dhofar in the south. The project is expected to continue until 2026.

This project will facilitate trip planning and visit organization, and will allow users to explore tourist attractions and key locations for educational, recreational, and preliminary purposes before actually traveling to their desired destination.
