Celebrating the first Logistics Day, announcing the winners of the Best Practices in the Logistics Sector Award for 2023, and launching a package of initiatives in the logistics sector
The esteemed Council of Ministers graciously approved the allocation of a day for the logistics sector to be April 30th of each year, which aims to highlight the role of the transport and logistics sector and the efforts made within it. It seeks to engage the transport system (land, sea, and air) in an integrated manner thru various initiatives, enhancing the concept of transport in all its forms among different segments of society, and involving institutions, companies, and individuals in the transport and logistics system to raise awareness and understanding of other aspects of the sector.
The Logistics Day and the second edition of the Oman Ports Conference were celebrated under the title "Oman on the Logistics Performance Index" on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Harib bin Thuwaini Al Said, Assistant Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers for Conferences.
During the ceremony, the following were announced:
1- A package of initiatives in the logistics sector
2- Crowning the winners of the Best Practices Award in the logistics sector
3- Launching the third phase of workshops and clinics for attracting investment in the logistics sector.
The second session of the Oman Ports Conference also addressed the following topics:
The first axis: Logistics connectivity in light of the 2040 priorities, legislative framework, and infrastructure.
Axis Two: Oman's Competitiveness on the Logistics Performance Index.
