Hadatha Cybersecurity Centers is a national initiative implemented by Oman National CERT at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and targeting the industrial sector in addition to innovators, investors and academics with the aim of creating economic possibilities in the field of cybersecurity for the benefit of the local community. The values of Hadatha centers are: cooperation and partnership with government institutions, private sector institutions and the industrial sector, in addition to academic institutions in the Sultanate. Hadatha Centers are implemented to allow researchers, interested people and entrepreneurs to design and implement innovative technologies and solutions for cybersecurity that promote the creation of national industries in the field of cybersecurity in the Sultanate.
Vision and mission
The vision of Hadatha Centre is to make Oman a leader in innovation and cybersecurity in the Arab region, by supporting a specialized cybersecurity industry, focused on human capital and based on innovation, creativity and excellence. While the mission of the centers is to enhance the outputs of the National Cybersecurity Industry Program, through the management of knowledge, ideas, research and design of cybersecurity products and services by simulating modeling and testing.
Hadatha Center Objectives
- Compatibility with the Cybersecurity Industry Program in the Sultanate, and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in cybersecurity and modern technologies, as Hadatha centers contribute to achieving the objectives of the main axes of the Cybersecurity Industry Program in the Sultanate.
- Activating the building of a seamless link between government organizations, the private sector and academic institutions, by strengthening the system of the National Framework for Innovation in the field of cybersecurity in the Sultanate, prepared by Oman National CERT, and activating cooperation and partnership between the concerned official authorities.
- Encouraging research, innovation and development in the field of cybersecurity, enhancing the position of the educational community as an attractive environment for innovation and research and development, and promoting the culture of innovation among Omani youth.
- Making Oman a leader in the field of innovation in cybersecurity in the Arab region, by activating the Cybersecurity Industry Program and its outputs from cooperation programs and joint initiatives between stakeholders to support innovation and stimulate promising investments in economic and social development efforts.
- Localizing technologies in line with global developments, enhancing the skills of Omani youth, and investing their energies to create local technical products in the field of cybersecurity that can be exported to the global market.
Target groups
Through Hadatha Cybersecurity Centers, innovation will be enabled in institutions to achieve the knowledge economy, and the general tasks of the target groups will be defined, as follows:

- Activate studies and research in the field of cybersecurity and modern technologies.
- Talent development in the field of cybersecurity and increase the number of local talents and capabilities through internships and on-the-job training.

- Support the themes of the cybersecurity industry program
- Increase the flow of talent and capabilities between public, private and academic institutions to promote the dissemination of knowledge and build strong networks between the mentioned institutions.
- Support the growth of cybersecurity startups
- Provide Hadatha Center with axes and challenges that require research and development and finding digital solutions, products and services in the field of cybersecurity.
- Provide financial, advisory and technical support.
- Active participation in achieving the knowledge economy and cybersecurity industry in the Sultanate.

Hadatha Center Branches:
1. Hadatha Center at the College of Technology and Applied Sciences, Muscat
Inaugurated in late 2024, this center focuses on fostering innovation and research in cybersecurity. It serves as a hub for developing practical solutions, testing security technologies, and providing training programs for students and professionals. The center also encourages collaboration between academia and industry to support national cybersecurity initiatives.
2. Hadatha Center at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU)
The SQU Hadatha Center offers hands-on training, research opportunities, and development projects in the cybersecurity domain. It functions as an incubator for innovative ideas and startups, bridging the gap between academic research and practical industry applications. The center aims to develop skilled cybersecurity professionals while contributing to Oman’s growing cybersecurity sector.
3. Hadatha Center at Middle East College (MEC)
This center focuses on promoting a culture of innovation and cybersecurity awareness among students and researchers. It provides workshops, practical labs, and collaborative research projects that address emerging cyber threats. MEC’s Hadatha Center aims to nurture future cybersecurity leaders by combining education, research, and industry engagement.
