The award was presented during the 28th Universal Postal Union Congress, hosted by the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from September 8 to 19, 2025.

This achievement represents international recognition of Oman’s readiness to embrace digital transformation and strengthen its leadership in logistics and e-commerce services. The Postal Development Index evaluates countries’ performance across four key dimensions: reliability, reach, convenience, and resilience, relying on big data, official statistics, and extensive surveys. This methodology provides the index with solid international credibility, making it a trusted reference for policy planning and postal sector strategies.

The award highlights Oman’s leading position in the region and its ability to translate operational and digital enhancements into tangible accomplishments. This milestone is the result of integrated efforts led by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology through policy formulation and implementation of ambitious national programs aligned with Oman Vision 2040. It also reflects the effective regulatory role of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in fostering a fair and sustainable competitive environment, alongside the operational role of Oman Post, the national operator, in developing services and expanding the network in line with digital transformation requirements and logistics trends.

This achievement consolidates Oman’s growing status in the postal sector both regionally and globally, affirming the success of national policies and strategies in enhancing postal and logistics services, strengthening digital infrastructure, supporting the national economy, and contributing to the growth of e-commerce.
