MTCIT wins "Gold" in the Environmental and Social Governance Award

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology won the Gold Award for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) at the Oman Sustainability Week 2026 Awards Ceremony, in recognition of its steadfast commitment to applying the highest sustainability standards in line with Oman Vision 2040 and the National Strategy to achieve net-zero by 2050.
This accolade comes as a confirmation of the ministry's leadership in integrating sustainable governance practices within the transportation, logistics, communications, and information technology sectors through a package of environmentally friendly national projects it implements, foremost among them being green mobility programs, digital transformation, and carbon reduction legislation. The independent judging panel for the Oman Sustainability Week Awards focused on measuring the actual impact of the competing projects, their efficiency in resource management and emission reduction, as well as their role in community development and training national cadres in environmental innovation. The ministry's projects received high scores in this award, which represents an enhancement of its efforts towards achieving carbon neutrality targets and building a sustainable infrastructure for future generations.
