A total of 25 teams, comprising developers, designers and innovators from across the Sultanate of Oman, are participating in the competition. Running from July to September 2026, the programme features a series of training boot camps, workshops and mentoring sessions designed to strengthen participants' capabilities and enable them to develop innovative artificial intelligence solutions.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, this year's competition focuses on Agentic AI (AI agents), one of the most significant emerging trends in artificial intelligence. The concept centres on developing intelligent systems capable of reasoning, making decisions and executing tasks autonomously to achieve predefined objectives.

Throughout the programme, participants will receive hands-on training in designing and developing AI-powered solutions, applying Agentic AI concepts to real-world challenges, utilising data and developing AI models, as well as enhancing their product development, product validation, and presentation skills. The competition also includes a dedicated track encouraging participants to leverage the National Open Data Portal, enabling teams to utilise real-world datasets to develop innovative solutions that address national challenges while creating added value for society and the national economy.

In the Ministry's opening address, Tawah bint Abdullah Al Dawood, Head of the Development and Studies Section at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, said the competition reflects the Ministry's commitment to nurturing national talent and strengthening capabilities in advanced technologies. She added that the initiative also promotes a culture of innovation and digital entrepreneurship while accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence applications in support of Oman Vision 2040 and the development of a knowledge-based digital economy.
