Awarding of the Al Mouj Road Development Project and the Connected Section of 18th November Street

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, in coordination with the Authority for Projects, Tenders and Local Content, has awarded the project for the development of Al Mouj Road and the associated segment of 18th November Street. The project includes the addition of a third lane in each direction from Airport Bridge to Al Ishraq Roundabout in the direction of Al Seeb Beach. It also includes the construction of a bridge and four-way traffic signals at Al Mouj Roundabout, as well as the construction of a flyover roundabout and an underpass for vehicles at the existing Al Bahja Roundabout.

The project further includes the development of Al Ishraq Roundabout into a three-way signalized intersection with lanes that ensure continuous traffic flow towards Al Seeb Beach, in addition to adding a third lane from Al Mouj Roundabout to Al Ma’walih Bridge, along with the construction of two vehicle underpasses for traffic heading from 18th November Street to Al Ma’walih Bridge. The project is expected to contribute to improving traffic flow and enhancing commercial, economic, and tourism activity. The Ministry is also in the final stages of awarding the Muscat Expressway expansion project.
