Date Published: 18 May 2026
Two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) focusing on environmental sustainability and green mobility were signed at the booth of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology during Oman Sustainability Week 2026.The first MoU, covering drone technology and logistics services, was signed between Ibn Firnas Drone Center and Nool Delivery Services to strengthen strategic cooperation in logistics support, drone operations, and operational coordination.
The agreement also includes the exchange of technical and operational data and information to support joint projects and advance technological and logistics solutions in the Sultanate of Oman. In a separate development, Shell Oman, Talabat and BYOD signed a cooperation agreement aimed at supporting the transition towards green mobility and reducing carbon emissions.
The agreement follows the launch of a joint pilot project by the three partners to introduce electric motorcycles for delivery services in the Sultanate of Oman following their official registration with Royal Oman Police. The project aims to evaluate the efficiency of electric motorcycles in last-mile delivery services while assessing operational and technical aspects, as well as charging infrastructure requirements, in support of sustainable transport solutions and the Sultanate’s net zero targets.
