MTCIT Celebrates Graduation of 40 Participants from Makeen Bootcamps in Dhofar

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), in cooperation with the Coding Academy, celebrated the graduation of participants from the Makeen Bootcamps in Dhofar Governorate under the patronage of H.E. Dr Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, along with a number of officials, representatives of government and private entities, and programme partners.
The event reflects the Ministry’s continued efforts to equip national talent with advanced digital and technological skills and enhance their readiness for opportunities in promising technology sectors. The programme graduated 40 participants from the Full-Stack Web Development and Data Science & Artificial Intelligence tracks following the successful completion of intensive training programmes designed to provide participants with practical and applied skills aligned with the requirements of digital transformation and the evolving demands of the labour market.
Empowering National Talent
The Makeen Bootcamps are among the Ministry’s key initiatives implemented in cooperation with specialised training institutions to develop qualified national talent capable of competing and contributing effectively across various technology sectors. The programmes combine theoretical and practical training in line with the latest professional and technological practices. The bootcamps also support the Sultanate of Oman’s direction towards a digital economy by fostering innovation and strengthening national capabilities in future technologies, while encouraging Omani youth to pursue specialisations related to modern technologies and artificial intelligence.
Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships
The graduation ceremony was organised to celebrate the achievements of the participants and reaffirm the importance of partnership and integration between the public and private sectors in supporting national initiatives aimed at developing human capital and equipping youth with the skills required for the future.
