The personal data protection policy issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology in the Sultanate of Oman concerns safeguarding individuals' personal data, specifying how it should be collected, processed, stored, and disclosed, in accordance with international and local standards to ensure privacy and security. The policy includes requirements for privacy notices, security measures, and provisions to protect data from leaks or breaches, as well as regulations for transferring data outside the Sultanate while maintaining national sovereignty. It applies to the units of the civil service to enhance citizen trust and achieve a balance between individuals' rights and technological advancements
