"Oman Space Accelerator" concludes its activities and opens new horizons in the space sector

The "Oman Space Accelerator" program concluded today, marking a key milestone in supporting and empowering Omani startups working in space technologies and applications. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Amer Al-Shehri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, and attended by several dignitaries, officials, and specialized experts.

The event featured impressive presentations by 10 startups that completed an intensive 15-week program, which included advanced technical and business workshops, specialized training sessions, and professional mentoring from local and international experts in the space sector. The companies also received comprehensive support in developing and designing their prototypes and preparing them for presentation to the judging panel and investors.


The companies have provided innovative solutions in various fields, including space communications, geographic artificial intelligence, robotics and the Internet of Things, remote sensing, geographic data analysis, astronomy, rocket propulsion technologies and space manufacturing, in addition to drones and their applications, reflecting the accelerating readiness of Omani companies to confidently enter the space technology market.


In a statement, Dr. Saud bin Hamid Al-Shoaili, Director General of Policies and Governance and Head of the National Space Program, confirmed the program's success, saying: "This edition has proven the existence of innovative projects, as the program has contributed to building national capacities and enabling startups to enter the space economy." He pointed out that the accelerator has strengthened cooperation between government entities, the private sector, and international partners, and has solidified Oman's presence in the regional space ecosystem. He added that this achievement represents an important step toward developing a comprehensive space sector that aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.


This conclusion comes as a culmination of the efforts of the "Oman Space Accelerator" in supporting national entrepreneurship and empowering Omani talents to innovate value-added technological solutions, which enhances the Sultanate of Oman's position in the global space sector and serves the objectives of the national space policy.
