Launch of the “Oman Maritime Portal” to Enhance Digital Services in the Maritime Sector
Date Published: 29 March 2026
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has launched the “Oman Maritime Portal”, a digital platform aimed at developing and providing more than 90 electronic maritime services. The platform seeks to accelerate procedures, enhance user experience, and reduce paper-based processes and manual operations.
It also aims to achieve integration with government and private entities, deliver secure and reliable digital services, and support decision-makers through dashboards and analytical reports, while strengthening national capabilities through training and knowledge transfer.
The platform will be developed in six phases. During the first phase, 13 key services have been launched, including services related to the registration of ships and marine vessels, issuance and renewal of navigation permits, issuance of registration and mortgage certificates, mortgage release, and inspection requests.
The platform integrates with a wide range of entities, including the Royal Oman Police, the Oman Business Platform, as well as several ministries, government entities, and private sector stakeholders.
An Integrated Digital Platform
The “Oman Maritime Portal” provides a unified digital gateway for delivering all maritime and port services, contributing to improved operational efficiency and facilitating seamless access to services. This reflects the Ministry’s commitment to digital transformation and the delivery of high-quality services.
The platform also features an integrated dashboard for real-time system performance monitoring, displaying request statistics by status, key performance indicators, and a list of the latest requests, with advanced filtering and search capabilities. This enhances oversight, improves operational efficiency, and streamlines process management with clarity and ease.
Driving Digital Transformation
The platform contributes to enhancing the delivery of maritime and logistics services through digital channels, enabling ease of access, faster processing, and a seamless, integrated user experience that increases customer satisfaction.
The launch of the “Oman Maritime Portal” comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to advance maritime and logistics services and strengthen digital transformation in the maritime sector, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that meet the expectations of citizens, businesses, and government entities.
