MTCIT showcases the importance of "DBFOT" investment road projects.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology reviewed the objectives of the technical and economic scope for investment road projects (DBFOT), in the presence of His Excellency Engineer Said bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, and His Excellency Engineer Khamis bin Mohammed Al-Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Transport, along with the participation of several investors and companies involved in purchasing the bidding documents for the design, construction, financing, operation, and transfer of ownership of some investment roads (DBFOT) project. This is part of its efforts to enhance partnership with the private sector and develop road infrastructure according to the best global practices.
The meeting included an explanation of the mechanism for submitting investment proposals and participation requirements, allowing investors to learn about the available investment opportunities in this vital sector. Additionally, an open discussion session was held to address the inquiries of investors and participating companies, and to discuss the technical, financial, and regulatory aspects related to the project, thereby enhancing transparency and providing an attractive competitive investment environment.
The ministry confirmed that these projects are part of initiatives aimed at expanding the participation of the private sector in implementing infrastructure projects, contributing to economic development and enhancing the efficiency and quality of the road network in the Sultanate of Oman.
These projects will contribute to the development of the road system and enhance its operational efficiency, in addition to providing alternative routes that shorten distances and facilitate the movement of citizens and residents. Furthermore, they will offer promising investment opportunities for the private sector, in line with national trends to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors.
