In line with rapid digital transformations and national directions aimed at reshaping government priorities and placing readiness at the heart of leadership decision-making, the Future Readiness Leadership Forum was launched today under the National Programme “Irtiqaa”. The forum will run for four months, with the participation of a distinguished group of Their Excellencies and senior government leaders and decision-makers, within a national track that reflects the highest priority of building institutional readiness capable of leading the future and accelerating government digital transformation, in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) in strategic partnership with the Royal Academy of Management, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, and the Omani Society for Human Resource Management (OSHRM), the forum serves as a high-level leadership dialogue platform that goes beyond traditional training and empowerment frameworks. It seeks to realign government decisions with future requirements and embodies an institutional direction that places leadership at the core of digital transformation, ultimately contributing to the development of an integrated national leadership ecosystem characterised by flexibility and innovation. This, in turn, strengthens Oman’s leading position in addressing accelerating global digital changes and enhancing readiness for the future.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the National Programme for Government Digital Transformation (Tahawul), stated: “Digital transformation is no longer a peripheral activity; it is a strategic direction led by senior leadership as the primary driver of transformation pathways toward the future. What we have witnessed through the Future Readiness Leadership Forum is a practical translation of this approach, where leadership steps forward—not only to keep pace with change, but to shape it.”

He added: “This forum embodies institutional awareness of the importance of readiness as a strategic pillar in Oman’s journey toward the future. It also confirms that the sustainability of institutional impact is closely tied to aligning government visions and strengthening harmony among decision-makers. Without a doubt, the presence of such diverse leadership within a shared dialogue space reflects the maturity of the Omani experience and its serious commitment to building a digital transformation that enhances readiness, anticipates challenges, and relies on strategic guidance in confronting rapid digital shifts.”

The forum aims to establish a shared understanding of digital transformation and emerging technologies, building a unified vision around advanced technologies, risk management, enhancing institutional performance efficiency, adopting the “One Government” approach, enabling coordination and integration among various government entities, and strengthening collective responsibility to achieve the desired national outcomes. The forum will be delivered through a series of high-level sessions and meetings, in addition to strategic panel discussions and leadership dialogues, with the participation of leading experts and global speakers, alongside the presentation of case studies, practical applications, and interactive simulations.

The forum comes as a strategic thinking space that enhances alignment among senior leaders around a unified national direction, accelerating the impact of digital transformation as a leadership-driven decision upon which the sustainability of institutional impact is built. It redefines readiness as an institutional capability and a government vision that strengthens leadership coherence and lays the foundation for shaping direction—through an approach that elevates the role of government leadership in forming Oman’s digital future and transforming vision into a national reality.
